There are really no words to describe this hotel. The view is one of the best views one can have in this world and the rooms are just insane. The kitchen specialises in fusion dishes and seafood, offering a tantalising octopus and avocado cocktail and a delicate yellow fin tuna sashimi, but the steak sandwich wasn’t particularly inspired. I chatted with the designer and Hackwith director of operations, Erin Husted, about their newly-minted studio space, the stories behind the brand and its Makers Alongside series, and what’s next for the ambitious designer. My first big project without a pattern was my own wedding dress. I couldn’t find a dress that really felt like me, so I decided to make my own. I’d only been sewing for a few months, so it was a big undertaking, but luckily, my client was very forgiving.
